Job Description

Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Thoracic and Vascular Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and detail-oriented professional with excellent clinical skills. Responsibilities of an RN Thoracic and Vascular Surgery:

  1. Provide high-quality patient care, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-up, and operating room assistance.
  2. Educate patients on disease prevention, health promotion, and other medical topics.
  3. Monitor patient vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
  4. Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  5. Document patient care services and maintain accurate patient records.
  6. Assist with medical procedures, such as administering blood transfusions and inserting catheters.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  9. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
