
Respiratory Therapist
Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for helping patients and have the qualifications and skills to effectively manage respiratory services in our hospital. Our Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing a wide range of services to ensure patient comfort, safety and well-being.We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, a valid state Respiratory Therapy license and current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). The candidate should also have at least two years of experience in a clinical setting working with adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. Our Respiratory Therapist must also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.We are confident that the ideal candidate will have the clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to excel in this position. Responsibilities of a Respiratory Therapist: • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients • Monitor patient progress and adjust respiratory treatments when necessary • Educate and instruct patients and families on preventive care, therapeutic interventions, and use of equipment • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as bronchopulmonary hygiene, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary function tests • Administer medications, oxygen, and aerosol treatments • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment • Assist with emergency medical treatments and resuscitation efforts • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records • Communicate effectively with other medical staff to ensure patient safety and well-being • Stay current on new developments and therapies in the field of respiratory therapy • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certification
