Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Specialty Surgery Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care. As an RN on our team, you will be integral in providing support to our surgeons, staff, and other healthcare professionals.To excel in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, and have at least two years of related experience. A strong commitment to the delivery of quality patient care is essential. You should also possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is also required. Above all, you must be passionate about making a difference in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.
  2. Assist surgeons, staff, and other healthcare professionals in providing support to patients.
  3. Ensure that all patient records are accurately maintained.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
  7. Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  8. Respond promptly to patient inquiries and requests.
  9. Maintain professional and compassionate communication with patients and families.
  10. Comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
