  1. Provide exceptional care to neonatal patients in the NICU unit.
  2. Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  3. Utilize strong clinical knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide education, support, and updates on patient conditions.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
  6. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  7. Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions, consulting with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
  8. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  9. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during difficult times.
  10. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  12. Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
  13. Advocate for patient rights and ensure that ethical and legal standards are upheld.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  15. Demonstrate commitment to continuous quality improvement and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  16. Stay updated on current research and evidence-based practices in neonatal care.
  17. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced nurses.
  18. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  19. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and ever-changing healthcare environment.
  20. Comply with all hospital and regulatory agency policies and guidelines.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position At Massachusetts General Hospital. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received A Comprehensive Education In Nursing Principles And Is Equipped With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Excel In The Nicu Setting.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure In The State Of Massachusetts: The Candidate Must Possess A Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Massachusetts To Be Eligible For This Job. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met All The Necessary Requirements And Standards Set By The State Board Of Nursing.

  • Experience In Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu): Prior Experience Working In A Nicu Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Position. It Is Crucial For The Candidate To Have A Strong Understanding Of The Specialized Care Required For Premature And Critically Ill Newborns.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification: The Candidate Must Possess Current Bls And Acls Certifications To Provide Life-Saving Interventions In Emergency Situations. These Certifications Also Demonstrate The Candidate's Commitment To Staying Up-To-Date With The Latest Advancements And Techniques In Emergency Care.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In A Nicu Requires The Ability To Communicate Effectively With A Diverse Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Patients, And Their Families. The Candidate Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Provide Compassionate Care And Support To Families During A Challenging Time.
