As a Recovery Coach, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our dedicated staff to promote and support the recovery of individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. - Provide one-on-one support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized recovery plans for patients.
- Conduct regular check-ins and follow-ups with patients to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
- Educate patients and their families on addiction and recovery, and provide resources for continued support.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the recovery community, promoting positive attitudes and behaviors.
- Help patients identify and overcome barriers to recovery, such as housing, employment, and transportation.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups for patients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient progress and interventions.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in addiction and recovery to continuously improve services.
- Participate in trainings and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to substance abuse and mental health disorders.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for patients to share their experiences and struggles.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional support for patients.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as ethical guidelines and standards.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with patients and their families.
- Promote a positive and supportive work environment within the team.
Certification As A Recovery Coach: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Certification As A Recovery Coach From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Massachusetts Board Of Substance Abuse Counselors Certification (Mbsacc) Or The International Association Of Peer Supporters (Inaps).
Knowledge And Experience In Substance Abuse And Mental Health: The Recovery Coach Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Substance Abuse And Mental Health Disorders, As Well As The Recovery Process. They Should Have Experience Working With Individuals Who Are Struggling With Addiction And Mental Health Issues.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Recovery Coach Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Establish Strong Rapport With Clients. They Should Be Able To Actively Listen, Provide Support, And Effectively Communicate Resources And Treatment Options.
Cultural Competence: Massachusetts General Hospital Serves A Diverse Patient Population. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding And Respect For Cultural Differences And Be Able To Effectively Work With Individuals From Various Backgrounds.
