- Perform radiation therapy treatments: Administer radiation therapy treatments according to physician orders and treatment plans.
- Monitor patient safety: Observe patients during treatments and address any potential safety concerns. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times.
- Educate patients: Explain treatment procedures and potential side effects to patients and their families. Provide support and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure all radiation therapy equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Troubleshoot any technical issues and report any malfunctions.
- Document treatment plans: Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and progress in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and provide updates on treatment progress.
- Stay updated on industry developments: Stay current on new techniques, equipment, and industry developments in radiation therapy. Attend training and educational opportunities as required.
- Adhere to hospital policies: Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including safety, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Ensure treatment rooms and equipment are clean and organized at all times.
- Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families. Strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all patients.
Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Radiation Therapy.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Radiation Therapist In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Advanced Treatment Techniques, Including Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (Imrt) And Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (Igrt).
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Multidisciplinary Team Environment.
