Job Description

As a Pulmonary Function Technician, you will play a crucial role in helping us accurately diagnose and treat respiratory conditions.   1. Conduct pulmonary function tests: Perform a variety of diagnostic tests for respiratory conditions, including spirometry, lung volume measurement, and diffusion capacity tests.
  2. Monitor patient health: Monitor patients' vital signs and oxygen levels during pulmonary function tests, and recognize any abnormalities or potential complications.
  3. Record and analyze results: Record and analyze the data collected during pulmonary function tests, and accurately interpret the results to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions.
  4. Maintain equipment and supplies: Ensure all equipment and supplies are in good working condition, properly calibrated, and well-stocked to provide efficient and accurate testing.
  5. Educate patients: Explain the purpose and procedures of pulmonary function tests to patients, and provide instructions on how to properly prepare for the tests.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  7. Ensure patient safety and comfort: Create a safe and comfortable environment for patients during pulmonary function tests, and assist with any discomfort or anxiety they may experience.
  8. Maintain accurate records: Document all test results, patient information, and other relevant data accurately and in a timely manner.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of respiratory care services and ensure compliance with standards and protocols.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments: Stay current on advancements in pulmonary function testing and respiratory care by attending workshops, seminars, and other educational opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Certificate Or Associate's Degree In Respiratory Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Licensure As A Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) Or Certified Respiratory Therapist (Crt) By The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Pulmonary Function Technician In A Hospital Setting.

  • Knowledge And Proficiency In Performing A Variety Of Pulmonary Function Tests, Including Spirometry, Lung Volume Measurements, And Diffusion Capacity.

  • Strong Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
