  1. Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for medical procedures and treatments for patients.
  2. Review medical records and treatment plans to determine the appropriate prior authorization requirements.
  3. Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to gather necessary information for prior authorization requests.
  4. Monitor and track the progress of prior authorization requests, ensuring timely approval for patients.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any issues or denials related to prior authorization requests.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prior authorization requests and outcomes.
  7. Stay up-to-date on insurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  8. Educate patients and their families on the prior authorization process and assist them in navigating insurance coverage.
  9. Work closely with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely billing for approved procedures.
  10. Act as a liaison between the patient, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to advocate for timely and appropriate care.
  11. Identify and report any potential issues or inefficiencies in the prior authorization process to improve overall patient experience.
  12. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on industry changes and best practices.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
  14. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team and with other departments.
  15. Uphold the hospital's mission and values in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Healthcare Insurance Verification And Prior Authorization.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Cpt And Icd Coding, And Insurance Billing Processes.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Insurance Companies.

  • Proficient In Using Electronic Health Record Systems And Insurance Portals For Prior Authorization Submissions And Tracking.
