- Conduct and interpret sleep studies for patients of all ages using various polysomnography equipment and techniques.
- Collaborate with sleep medicine specialists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor patients during sleep studies and make necessary adjustments to equipment or procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of sleep study results and patient information.
- Educate patients on the purpose and procedures of sleep studies and answer any questions or concerns.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during sleep studies.
- Follow all hospital and departmental protocols and procedures for conducting sleep studies.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in polysomnography.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating sleep studies for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide suggestions for process improvements.
- Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive to provide exceptional patient care and improve patient outcomes.
- Act as a resource for other healthcare professionals on sleep disorders and sleep studies.
- Assist with training and mentoring new polysomnography technologists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Certification From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt)
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field, Such As Respiratory Therapy, Neurodiagnostics, Or Healthcare Management
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Performing And Scoring Sleep Studies, Including Overnight Sleep Studies And Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (Mslts)
Proficiency In Operating And Troubleshooting Sleep Study Equipment, Such As Eeg, Eog, Emg, And Airflow Sensors
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
