Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery team at Massachusetts General Hospital. In this position, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, performing clinical duties, and assisting in surgical procedures. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery and possess excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care, including performing physical exams, diagnosing illnesses and injuries, and developing treatment plans.
  2. Assist in surgical procedures, such as pre-operative and post-operative care.
  3. Execute clinical duties, such as ordering and interpreting lab results, administering medications, and making referrals to other healthcare providers.
  4. Educate patients and their families about foot and ankle conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to ensure optimal patient care.
  7. Demonstrate a compassionate and positive attitude towards patients and their families.
  8. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies

  • Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa)

  • Valid Massachusetts Physician Assistant License

  • At Least Two Years Of Experience In The Orthopedic Foot And Ankle Surgery Field

  • Ability To Perform Physical Examinations

  • Ability To Diagnose And Treat Common Orthopedic Conditions

  • Proficiency In Suturing

  • Casting And Splinting

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Coding
