  1. Provide compassionate and skilled patient care to individuals in a healthcare setting.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
  3. Monitor and assess patient's condition, documenting any changes and reporting them to the appropriate medical personnel.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
  5. Assist patients with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  6. Respond to patient's needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, following all infection control protocols.
  8. Update and maintain patient records and documentation accurately and confidentially.
  9. Educate patients and their families on proper self-care techniques and discharge instructions.
  10. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and processes.
  11. Attend trainings and continuing education sessions to stay current on best practices and procedures.
  12. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
  13. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure a positive and supportive environment.
  14. Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Associate Must Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Be Considered For The Position. This Level Of Education Ensures That The Individual Has A Basic Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Can Effectively Communicate With Patients And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Many Hospitals, Including Massachusetts General Hospital, Require Patient Care Associates To Have A Current Cna Certification. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Received Proper Training In Patient Care And Is Equipped With The Necessary Skills To Perform The Job Effectively.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Is Highly Desirable For A Patient Care Associate Position. This Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of Healthcare Practices And Procedures, As Well As The Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And Demanding Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Patient Care Associates Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals. These Skills Are Essential In Building Trust And Maintaining A Positive And Supportive Environment For Patients.

  • Ability To Handle Physically Demanding Tasks: The Role Of A Patient Care Associate Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring Individuals To Assist Patients With Mobility, Lifting, And Other Tasks. Therefore, Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Perform These Tasks Without Difficulty.
