- Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Operating Room department.
- Manage and maintain all schedules and calendars for operating room procedures, staff, and equipment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other staff to ensure all necessary resources are in place for each procedure.
- Monitor and track inventory levels of supplies and equipment, and place orders as needed.
- Train and supervise operating room staff, including nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all operating room activities.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement new processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act as a liaison between the operating room department and other hospital departments and external partners.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors and address any concerns or complaints.
- Collaborate with the finance department to track and manage the budget for the operating room department.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in operating room technology and procedures.
- Participate in hospital-wide committees and meetings to represent the operating room department and provide input for hospital-wide initiatives.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the operating room department and make recommendations for improvement.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the operating room department is in compliance with all infection control and safety standards.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff members.
- Handle any emergencies or unexpected situations that may arise in the operating room.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient flow and coordination of care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the hospital's mission and values in all job duties and interactions.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In An Operating Room Environment.
Strong Organizational And Communication Skills To Effectively Coordinate And Prioritize Multiple Tasks And Responsibilities.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Operating Room Procedures, Equipment, And Supplies.
Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems.
