  3. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize disruptions during surgeries.
  4. Collaborate with surgical team to ensure all equipment is set up and functioning properly for each procedure.
  5. Keep detailed records of all equipment maintenance and repairs, including documentation of any issues or concerns.
  6. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies and parts to ensure equipment is always in working order.
  7. Train and educate staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment to promote safety and efficiency.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and technological changes in operating room equipment.
  9. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while handling equipment.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, and other hospital staff to ensure smooth operation of equipment during surgeries.
  11. Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for technical support and assistance when needed.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the equipment storage and maintenance areas.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall performance and safety of operating room equipment.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by ensuring their comfort and safety during equipment use.
  15. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The Minimum Educational Requirement For An Operating Room Equipment Technician At Massachusetts General Hospital Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.

  • Certification Or Training In Biomedical Equipment Technology: Candidates With A Certification Or Formal Training In Biomedical Equipment Technology Will Have A Better Understanding Of Medical Equipment And Its Operation, Maintenance, And Troubleshooting. This Qualification Is Highly Desirable For An Operating Room Equipment Technician At Massachusetts General Hospital.

  • Previous Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting: Prior Experience Working With Medical Equipment In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is Preferred For This Position. It Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of The Healthcare Environment And The Specific Equipment Used In An Operating Room.
