  1. Provide specialized hand therapy services to patients with a variety of hand and upper extremity conditions, including fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and arthritis.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and needs.
  3. Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions to improve patients' functional abilities and promote independence in daily activities.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families on the importance of therapy and home exercises to promote continued progress and prevent re-injury.
  6. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hand anatomy, conditions, and rehabilitation techniques through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to occupational therapy practice.
  9. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced therapists and students, providing guidance and support in the field of hand therapy.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Therapy Or Related Field, With Certification As A Registered Occupational Therapist (Otr) By The American Occupational Therapy Association (Aota).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience As An Occupational Therapist, With A Focus On Hand Therapy And Upper Extremity Injuries.

  • Certification As A Certified Hand Therapist (Cht) By The Hand Therapy Certification Commission (Htcc).

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Hand Anatomy, Function, And Rehabilitation Techniques, As Well As Common Hand And Upper Extremity Conditions And Treatments.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Effectively Educate And Communicate With Patients And Their Families.
