- Provide direct patient care to antepartum and postpartum patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as needed.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing care plans for antepartum and postpartum patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on antepartum and postpartum care, including postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in antepartum and postpartum care, and incorporate this knowledge into daily practice.
- Act as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in the care of antepartum and postpartum patients.
- Conduct regular audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality and safe care for patients.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures related to antepartum and postpartum care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees to improve patient outcomes and promote evidence-based practice.
- Foster a culture of compassionate and patient-centered care within the antepartum and postpartum units.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff and other healthcare providers, advocating for the needs of patients and promoting effective communication.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new nursing staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to provide care to antepartum and postpartum patients.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and serve as a role model for nursing staff in providing exceptional care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to all hospital and nursing policies, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure the highest standards of care are met.
Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Massachusetts.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Obstetrical Nursing, With A Focus On Antepartum And Postpartum Care.
Certification As A Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (Whnp) Or Other Relevant Specialty Certification.
Strong Clinical Knowledge And Skills, Including Proficiency In Advanced Assessment And Management Of Antepartum And Postpartum Complications.
