  1. Develop and implement strategies to provide exceptional patient care in the Thoracic and Vascular Surgery department.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the department and ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  3. Lead and manage a team of nurses, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their professional growth and development.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure the best possible outcomes.
  5. Monitor and maintain quality assurance standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, including those related to patient safety and confidentiality.
  7. Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
  8. Serve as a role model for nursing staff, promoting a culture of compassion, excellence, and continuous learning.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in thoracic and vascular surgery and incorporate best practices into the department's operations.
  10. Act as a liaison between the Thoracic and Vascular Surgery department and other departments within the hospital.
  11. Participate in recruitment and retention efforts, including conducting interviews and making hiring decisions.
  12. Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  14. Represent the Thoracic and Vascular Surgery department in hospital-wide meetings and committees.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance patient care and optimize efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Massachusetts.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Thoracic And Vascular Surgery Nursing, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Management Role.

  • Strong Clinical Knowledge And Expertise In Surgical Procedures And Patient Care Related To Thoracic And Vascular Surgery.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Lead And Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team.
