  1. Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately diagnose and treat infectious diseases.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications and providing patient education.
  3. Perform invasive procedures such as administering IV medications and performing wound care.
  4. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and provide comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  7. Educate patients and their families about infectious diseases, treatment options, and prevention strategies.
  8. Stay current on developments in the field of infectious diseases and implement evidence-based practices in patient care.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  10. Serve as a resource and mentor for other healthcare professionals on infectious disease management and prevention.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  12. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Education And Licensure: Candidates For This Position Must Possess A Graduate Degree In Nursing Or Physician Assistant Studies, As Well As Current Licensure As A Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant In The State Of Massachusetts.

  • Specialized Training In Infectious Disease: Ideal Candidates Will Have Completed Specialized Training Or Coursework In Infectious Disease Management, Preferably With A Focus On Hiv/Aids, Hepatitis, Or Other Common Infectious Diseases.

  • Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Primary Care Or Infectious Disease Setting Is Required For This Position. Candidates With Experience In A Hospital Or Outpatient Clinic Setting Will Be Given Preference.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Member Of A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team, The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Interpersonal Skills, Empathy, And Cultural Competence Are Highly Valued.

  • Knowledge Of Current Research And Treatment Guidelines: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Current Research And Treatment Guidelines For Infectious Diseases, As Well As The Ability To Critically Evaluate And Apply New Evidence To Practice. Experience With Clinical Trials Or Research Projects Related To Infectious Disease Is A Plus.
