  1. Administer Anesthesia: As a Nurse Anesthetist at MGH, your primary responsibility will be to administer anesthesia to patients before, during, and after medical procedures.   6. Maintain Records: It is crucial to maintain accurate and detailed records of all anesthesia procedures and patients' responses to anesthesia. This includes documenting medication doses, vital signs, and any complications or adverse reactions.
  7. Stay Current on Industry Developments: As a CRNA at MGH, it is essential to stay updated on advancements in anesthesia care, new techniques and technologies, and industry developments. This includes attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education courses.

Job Qualifications
  • Graduate Degree In Nurse Anesthesia From An Accredited Program: Candidates For A Crna Job At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Have Completed An Accredited Graduate Degree Program In Nurse Anesthesia. This Typically Includes A Combination Of Coursework, Clinical Rotations, And Hands-On Experience In Anesthesia Techniques.

  • Current Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure: In Order To Practice As A Nurse Anesthetist, Candidates Must Hold A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Massachusetts. This Licensure Is Typically Obtained After Completing A Nursing Program And Passing The National Council Licensure Examination (Nclex-Rn).

  • Certification From The National Board Of Certification And Recertification For Nurse Anesthetists (Nbcrna): Crnas Must Be Certified By The Nbcrna, Which Involves Passing A Rigorous National Certification Exam. This Certification Must Be Maintained Through Ongoing Continuing Education And Recertification Every 4 Years.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Acute Care Nursing: Candidates For A Crna Job At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In An Acute Care Nursing Setting. This Experience Provides A Foundation Of Knowledge And Skills That Are Necessary For The Advanced Practice Of Nurse Anesthesia.

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Critical Thinking Abilities: As A Crucial Member Of The Anesthesia Care Team, Crnas Must Possess Strong Clinical Skills And The Ability To Think Critically In High-Pressure Situations.
