- Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic use in compliance with all regulatory guidelines and hospital policies.
- Ensure the accurate and safe delivery of radiopharmaceuticals to patients by following proper preparation, handling, and storage protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate radiopharmaceuticals for patient treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of all radiopharmaceuticals prepared and dispensed, including batch numbers, expiration dates, and patient information.
- Conduct quality control checks on all radiopharmaceuticals to ensure potency and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly disposing of all radioactive materials according to established protocols.
- Assist in the procurement and inventory management of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring an adequate supply is always available for patient use.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in nuclear pharmacy and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills.
- Provide guidance and training to other pharmacy staff on nuclear pharmacy procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, their families, and fellow healthcare professionals.
- Take part in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives to improve patient care and safety.
- Maintain all necessary licensure and certifications required for the practice of nuclear pharmacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Director.
A Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Pharmacy School.
A Current And Valid License To Practice Pharmacy In The State Of Massachusetts.
Completion Of An Accredited Nuclear Pharmacy Residency Program.
Board Certification In Nuclear Pharmacy From The Board Of Pharmacy Specialties (Bps).
Previous Experience In A Hospital Pharmacy Setting, With A Focus On Nuclear Medicine And Radiopharmaceuticals.
