Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Lab Technologist - Microbiology to join the Massachusetts General Hospital team! In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive laboratory services related to Microbiology. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Medical Laboratory Technology, including experience in Microbiology, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The Medical Lab Technologist - Microbiology will be an integral part of our hospital's laboratory team and will play a critical role in providing quality laboratory services.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent program• At least 2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting• Experience in Microbiology, including proficiency in laboratory techniques and knowledge of microbiological principles• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team• Excellent communication and organizational skills• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously• Strong attention to detail• Knowledge of quality assurance and safety standards• Ability to use laboratory information systems

Responsibilities: • Perform laboratory tests and procedures related to Microbiology • Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to safety standards • Ensure accurate results by conducting quality control tests • Analyze and interpret test results • Document and report test results • Maintain laboratory records • Follow quality assurance and safety standards • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues • Provide technical guidance to other laboratory personnel • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
