  1. Administer IV therapy: Perform a variety of intravenous procedures including inserting, maintaining, and removing IV lines according to established protocols and standards.
  2. Monitor patients: Observe and assess patients' response to IV therapy, identify potential complications, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  3. Prepare equipment and supplies: Set up and maintain the necessary IV equipment, supplies, and medications to ensure safe and effective delivery of therapy.
  4. Follow safety protocols: Adhere to all infection control and safety measures to prevent the spread of infection and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
  5. Document and maintain records: Accurately document all IV therapy procedures, patient responses, and any other relevant information in patient records, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and provide comprehensive care for patients receiving IV therapy.
  7. Educate patients and families: Provide education and instructions to patients and their families regarding IV therapy, including potential side effects, self-care measures, and proper disposal of equipment.
  8. Troubleshoot and problem-solve: Respond to and resolve any issues or complications related to IV therapy, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  9. Maintain inventory: Monitor and restock IV supplies and equipment, and notify appropriate personnel when additional supplies are needed.
  10. Attend trainings and stay updated: Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competency in IV therapy and stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
  11. Follow hospital policies and procedures: Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
  12. Provide compassionate care: Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and sensitivity towards patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive environment for all.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 1 Year Experience As A Certified Iv Therapy Technician.

  • Current Certification In Iv Therapy From An Accredited Institution.

  • Knowledge Of Sterile Techniques And Infection Control Procedures.

  • Familiarity With Different Types Of Iv Catheters And Their Insertion Procedures.

  • Ability To Accurately Monitor And Document Patient Response To Iv Therapy.
