- Perform intraoperative monitoring (IOM) procedures using advanced techniques and equipment to aid in the safety and success of neurosurgical procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of IOM data by adhering to established protocols and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons and other members of the surgical team to develop and implement appropriate IOM plans for each individual patient.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and neurological responses during surgical procedures and make real-time adjustments to IOM techniques as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to provide continuous updates on patient status and any changes in IOM readings.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with IOM equipment and work with appropriate personnel to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of IOM procedures and patient responses for documentation and research purposes.
- Stay current with advancements in IOM technology and techniques and make recommendations for their implementation within the department.
- Uphold the hospital's standards for patient care, safety, and confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support when needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Biology, Or Related Field.
Certification As A Medical Technologist From A Recognized Organization, Such As Ascp Or Amt.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In Iom.
Knowledge Of Iom Equipment And Procedures, Including Eeg, Emg, And Evoked Potentials.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
