Job Description

Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join the Radiology Department. Our ideal candidate has an extensive knowledge of the medical imaging field, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a certified radiologic technologist with experience in interventional radiology. We want a technologist who is passionate about patient care and who understands the importance of providing accurate imaging services in a timely manner. We are searching for a compassionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The Interventional Radiology Technologist’s duties will involve performing imaging procedures, preparing patients for procedures, and providing patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively on a team. Our ideal candidate must possess a minimum of two years of experience in interventional radiology and should be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The successful applicant will also be proficient in the use of computers and advanced imaging software.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform imaging procedures, such as CT scans, MRI scans, and other interventional radiology procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including obtaining patient histories and providing patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to ensure a successful outcome for each patient
  • Maintain and update patient records
  • Utilize advanced imaging software and equipment
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Maintain equipment and arrange for routine maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor radiation exposure levels and follow safety protocols
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and ordering supplies when needed
