- Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and protocols in accordance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and surveillance activities to identify potential sources of infection and implement necessary interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to educate and train staff on infection control practices and ensure adherence to protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and developments in infection prevention and control, and incorporate best practices into hospital protocols.
- Monitor and analyze infection data to identify any trends or patterns, and take appropriate action to address any concerns.
- Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for the management and control of outbreaks or clusters of infections.
- Serve as a resource for all hospital staff, providing guidance and support on infection control measures and strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations involved in infection control, and participate in relevant committees and meetings.
- Collaborate with the quality improvement team to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in infection prevention and control.
- Lead and participate in research projects related to infection prevention and control, and disseminate findings to improve practices and patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain infection control related policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of infection control activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and local, state, and national health departments regarding infection control and prevention matters.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and develop plans to prevent and control infections during public health emergencies.
- Serve as a role model for infection control practices and promote a culture of safety throughout the hospital.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Or Related Field
Certification In Infection Control (Cic) Or Equivalent
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Infection Prevention And Control, Preferably In A Hospital Setting
Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Infection Prevention And Control
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Healthcare Professionals And Departments.
