As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors by implementing and monitoring infection control policies and procedures.   1. Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential infection risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to educate and train staff on infection control measures.
  4. Monitor and track data related to infection rates and provide regular reports to hospital leadership.
  5. Investigate and respond to any potential outbreaks or clusters of infections.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current infection prevention research and guidelines to continuously improve practices.
  7. Work closely with the Quality Improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  8. Serve as a resource for all staff regarding infection control practices and procedures.
  9. Conduct infection control rounds to ensure adherence to protocols and identify any potential issues.
  10. Participate in the development and implementation of infection prevention policies for special situations, such as pandemics or emerging infectious diseases.
  11. Collaborate with the Environmental Services team to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection practices are being followed.
  12. Conduct investigations and provide recommendations for appropriate control measures in the event of a healthcare-associated infection.
  13. Serve as a liaison with public health departments and other external agencies regarding infection control measures.
  14. Participate in the development and review of emergency preparedness plans related to infection control.
  15. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to infection control activities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Or Related Field.

  • Certification In Infection Control (Cic) From The Certification Board Of Infection Control And Epidemiology (Cbic).

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Infection Control Regulations And Guidelines From Organizations Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (Cdc) And The Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha).

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Healthcare Teams And Educate Staff On Infection Control Protocols.
