- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and address them promptly.
- Follow established protocols for handling, storing, and transporting hazardous materials.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment as required while handling hazardous materials.
- Ensure proper labeling and documentation of hazardous waste containers and storage areas.

- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of hazardous materials and order supplies as needed.

Knowledge Of Hazardous Waste Regulations: A Hazardous Waste Worker At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Regarding The Handling, Transportation, And Disposal Of Hazardous Waste Materials.
Experience With Hazardous Waste Management: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience Working With Hazardous Waste Materials, Including Proper Labeling, Storage, And Handling Procedures.
Training And Certification: Massachusetts General Hospital Requires All Hazardous Waste Workers To Have Completed Osha Hazardous Waste Operations And Emergency Response (Hazwoper) Training And Hold A Valid Certification.
Familiarity With Hazardous Waste Disposal Processes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of The Various Methods Of Hazardous Waste Disposal, Including Incineration, Chemical Treatment, And Landfill Disposal, And Be Able To Follow Proper Protocols For Each.
