  1. Develop and lead engaging and effective group exercise classes for patients and employees of Massachusetts General Hospital.
  2. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all fitness levels and abilities.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the wellness department to develop and implement new and innovative fitness programs.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and research in exercise science to continuously improve and enhance group exercise offerings.
  5. Motivate and inspire participants to achieve their fitness goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  6. Ensure the safety and proper form of all participants during group exercise classes.
  7. Maintain class attendance and participation records, as well as provide regular feedback and evaluations to the wellness department.
  8. Assist in the promotion and marketing of group exercise classes to increase participation and awareness.
  9. Foster a positive and supportive team environment with fellow instructors and other hospital staff.
  10. Serve as a role model for healthy living and act as an ambassador for Massachusetts General Hospital's wellness initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification From A Nationally Recognized Organization: Candidates For The Group Exercise Instructor Position At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Hold A Current Certification From A Reputable Organization Such As Ace, Nasm, Or Afaa.

  • Experience Teaching A Variety Of Group Exercise Classes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Teaching A Diverse Range Of Group Exercise Classes, Including But Not Limited To Cardio, Strength Training, And Mind-Body Classes.

  • Knowledge Of Safe And Effective Exercise Techniques: Candidates Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Proper Exercise Form And Technique To Ensure The Safety Of Participants And Prevent Injuries.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Group Exercise Instructor, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Leading And Motivating A Group Of Participants. Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For Creating A Positive And Engaging Exercise Experience.

  • Ability To Modify Exercises For Different Fitness Levels: The Group Exercise Instructor Should Be Able To Modify Exercises To Accommodate Different Fitness Levels And Abilities. This Includes Providing Options For Beginners As Well As Challenging Modifications For More Advanced Participants.
