Welcome to the Genetic Counseling team at Massachusetts General Hospital! We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join us as a Genetic Counselor Assistant. As an assistant, you will provide crucial support to our team of genetic counselors in their daily tasks and interactions with patients.   1. Provide administrative support to the genetic counseling team, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and managing correspondence.
  2. Act as a liaison between patients, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective communication.
  3. Assist genetic counselors in preparing and organizing materials for counseling sessions and educational materials for patients.
  4. Conduct research and gather information to support genetic counselors in their work, such as compiling family histories and medical records.
  5. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
  6. Communicate with patients in a compassionate and empathetic manner, providing emotional support and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the genetic counseling team to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care.
  8. Stay up-to-date on advancements in genetic counseling and related fields to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  9. Assist in special projects and initiatives to promote the genetic counseling program and educate the community about genetics and genetic counseling services.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and protocols, including safety and infection control measures, to ensure a safe and professional work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Genetics, Biology, Or A Related Field.
