
Exercise Physiologist Cardiac Rehab - 24 hours/week, days

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Exercise Physiologist to join our team in the Cardiac Rehab department. This part-time position offers 24 hours per week, with flexible day shifts. As the ideal candidate, you will possess a degree in Exercise Physiology or a related field, as well as relevant certification and experience in cardiac rehabilitation. - Develop and implement individualized exercise plans for patients recovering from cardiac events, taking into consideration their medical history, current physical abilities, and personal goals.
- Monitor and assess patients' progress during exercise sessions, making necessary adjustments to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Educate and counsel patients on healthy lifestyle choices and behaviors to promote cardiovascular health and prevent future cardiac events.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient progress, including exercise plans, assessments, and communication with the healthcare team.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in cardiac rehabilitation to provide the best possible care for patients.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the exercise equipment and facility, following proper infection control and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families, providing emotional support and answering any questions or concerns.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and ethics.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the cardiac rehabilitation program.
Bachelor's Degree In Exercise Physiology Or Related Field
Current Bls And Acls Certification
Certification As A Clinical Exercise Physiologist (Cep) Through The American College Of Sports Medicine (Acsm)
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Cardiac Rehabilitation Or Related Field
Strong Knowledge Of Cardiac Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As Exercise Prescription For Cardiac Patients
