Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Candidates For The Endoscope Sterile Processing Technician Position At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Understand And Carry Out The Responsibilities Of The Role.

  • Sterile Processing Certification: Candidates Should Hold A Sterile Processing Certification From An Accredited Organization Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Properly Handle And Process Endoscopes.

  • Previous Experience In Sterile Processing: Previous Experience Working In A Sterile Processing Department Is Highly Preferred For This Position. It Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Processes And Procedures Involved In Sterilizing And Handling Medical Equipment, Including Endoscopes.

  • Knowledge Of Infection Control Practices: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control Practices And Procedures To Prevent The Spread Of Infections In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Cleaning, Disinfection, And Sterilization Techniques For Endoscopes.

  • Attention To Detail: The Endoscope Sterile Processing Technician Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That Endoscopes Are Properly Processed And Ready For Use In Medical Procedures.
