- Conduct EEG tests: Perform high-quality EEG recordings according to established protocols and procedures, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Monitor patient during EEG: Monitor patient’s condition during EEG testing and respond to any changes or issues that may arise.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure all EEG equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
- Prepare patients for testing: Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for EEG testing by positioning electrodes and applying appropriate techniques to ensure accurate results.
- Review and analyze results: Analyze EEG recordings and identify any abnormalities or irregularities that may require further investigation or consultation with medical staff.
- Collaborate with medical team: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and assist with the interpretation of EEG results.
- Educate patients and families: Educate patients and their families on EEG procedures and results, offering support and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain accurate records: Document all EEG procedures, results, and patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and equipment at all times.
- Participate in research: Contribute to research projects and studies related to EEG testing and stay updated on advancements in the field of neurology and EEG technology.
- Attend training and conferences: Attend training sessions and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills in EEG testing and stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Uphold hospital standards: Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of practice, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Neuroscience, Biology, Or A Related Field.
Certification As An Eeg Technologist From The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Performing Eegs In A Clinical Setting.
Knowledge Of Various Eeg Recording Techniques, Including Long-Term Monitoring And Intraoperative Monitoring.
Ability To Accurately Interpret Eeg Data And Communicate Findings To Physicians And Other Healthcare Professionals.
