  1. Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for patients and develop personalized nutrition plans based on their individual needs and medical conditions.
  2. Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families, taking into account cultural, social, and economic factors.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  4. Stay up-to-date on the latest nutrition science and research, and use this knowledge to inform and improve patient care.
  5. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and make adjustments to nutrition plans as needed.
  6. Utilize a patient-centered approach to empower patients to make sustainable lifestyle changes and improve their overall health and well-being.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progress in electronic medical records.
  8. Participate in patient education and outreach programs to promote nutrition and wellness within the community.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based nutrition policies and procedures within the hospital.
  10. Adhere to professional and ethical standards, as well as state and federal regulations, in all aspects of practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics: The Ideal Candidate For A Dietitian / Nutritionist Job At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics From An Accredited Institution.

  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (Rdn) Certification: Massachusetts General Hospital Requires All Dietitian / Nutritionist Job Applicants To Be Registered With The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr).

  • Clinical Experience In A Hospital Setting: Candidates With Prior Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Will Be Preferred. This Experience Should Include Working With Patients With Various Medical Conditions And Providing Individualized Nutrition Care Plans.
