
Critical Care Technician
Massachusetts General Hospital is looking for an experienced and motivated Critical Care Technician to join our team. As a critical care technician, you will provide vital support to our ICU and CCU teams, helping to ensure the highest quality of care for all of our patients. You will be responsible for providing vital signs, administering medications and treatments, and assisting with daily patient needs.The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a critical care technician in either an ICU or CCU setting, and be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure. Additionally, you must be detail-oriented and have a commitment to providing the best patient care.If you are passionate about helping others and have the necessary qualifications, we would love to have you join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, etc.) for ICU and CCU patients.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physicians' orders.
- Assist with patient hygiene needs, such as bathing and grooming.
- Maintain patient records and document patient care activities.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families.
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all patients.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatments.
- Report any changes in patient condition to physicians and/or nursing staff.
- Participate in continuing education programs related to critical care.
