- Oversee and manage the quality and compliance of compounded medications at Massachusetts General Hospital.
- Ensure that all compounded medications meet regulatory requirements and adhere to strict quality standards.
- Review and maintain all necessary documents and records related to the compounding process, including batch records and standard operating procedures.
- Regularly audit compounding processes to identify any potential areas for improvement or non-compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Train and educate staff on proper compounding procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor inventory and expiration dates of compounding materials and ingredients.
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and regulatory agencies, ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are up to date.
- Investigate any incidents or complaints related to compounded medications and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay up to date on industry regulations and changes in compounding practices, and make recommendations for updates to hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to other staff members involved in the compounding process.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Uphold the hospital's commitment to patient safety and exceptional care in all aspects of the job.
- Participate in hospital-wide quality and compliance committees and initiatives.
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of compounding processes and make recommendations for improvements.
Bachelor's Degree In Pharmacy Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Pharmaceutical Compounding, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Fda Regulations, Usp Standards, And State And Federal Laws Related To Compounding.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accurate Records.
Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Work Collaboratively With Multidisciplinary Teams.
