Bachelor's Degree In Public Health Or Related Field: A Community Health Worker At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Possess A Strong Educational Background In Public Health Or A Related Field To Effectively Understand And Address Community Health Issues.
Certified Community Health Worker (Chw): The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Certification As A Community Health Worker From An Accredited Program, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Community Outreach, Health Education, And Patient Advocacy.
Experience In Community Outreach And Health Education: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In Community Outreach And Health Education, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Will Enable Them To Effectively Engage With Diverse Populations And Understand Their Unique Health Needs.
Bilingual Proficiency: Given The Diverse Population Served By Massachusetts General Hospital, Fluency In A Second Language, Particularly Spanish, Is Highly Desired. This Will Enable The Community Health Worker To Effectively Communicate And Connect With Patients And Community Members Who May Not Speak English As Their Primary Language.
Knowledge Of Local Resources And Healthcare Systems: A Community Health Worker Should Have A Solid Understanding Of The Local Healthcare System And Available Resources In The Community. This Will Enable Them To Assist Patients In Navigating The Healthcare System And Connecting Them With Appropriate Resources For Their Health Needs.
