  • Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to pediatric patients and their families during hospitalization, illness, and injury
  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate play activities and programs for pediatric patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the holistic care of pediatric patients
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, diagnoses, and medical equipment in child-friendly and age-appropriate ways
  • Advocate for the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions and progress
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to support the needs of pediatric patients and families
  • Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and best practices in child life and child development
  • Provide support and guidance to family members and caregivers on how to cope with a child's hospitalization and medical treatment
  • Collaborate with Child Life team to plan and execute special events and activities for pediatric patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Or Related Field.

  • Certification As A Child Life Specialist Through The Association Of Child Life Professionals.

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working With Children And Families In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Pediatrics.

  • Strong Understanding Of Child Development And Family Dynamics, With The Ability To Provide Emotional Support And Coping Strategies To Children And Families During Difficult Medical Experiences.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Build Relationships With Patients And Families.
