We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Life Specialist to join our team in the Pediatric Emergency Room.   1. Develop and implement child life programs and interventions to support the emotional, social, and developmental needs of pediatric patients in the Emergency Room.
  2. Provide emotional support and education to children and families during stressful and traumatic experiences.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the child's developmental, psychological, and emotional needs are met.
  4. Utilize play and other therapeutic techniques to help children cope with medical procedures and hospitalization.
  5. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children and families in the pediatric emergency room.
  6. Educate and train hospital staff on child development and age-appropriate interventions.
  7. Advocate for the needs and rights of pediatric patients and their families.
  8. Document and maintain accurate records of interventions and progress of patients.
  9. Remain up-to-date on best practices and research in child life and pediatric healthcare.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive team approach.
  11. Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to pediatric care and patient experience.
  12. Continuously assess the effectiveness of child life interventions and make adjustments as needed.
  13. Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide additional support to families.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with patients and families.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the hospital's mission and values, and represent the hospital in a professional and compassionate manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Child Life Specialist From The Child Life Council.

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Pediatric Emergency Room.

  • Knowledge Of Child Development And Understanding Of The Impact Of Illness And Hospitalization On Children And Families.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Support To Children And Families In Crisis.
