Job Qualifications
  • Active Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Must Be Active And In Good Standing.

  • Oncology Knowledge: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Oncology Medications, Their Uses, Dosage Forms, And Administration Methods. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of Chemotherapy Compounding And Handling Techniques, As Well As The Ability To Accurately Calculate Dosages.

  • Experience In A Hospital Setting: Previous Experience Working As A Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Setting Is Preferred. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Their Familiarity With Hospital Protocols And Procedures.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Certified Pharmacy Technician, Attention To Detail Is Crucial, Especially When Dealing With Oncology Medications. The Candidate Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accuracy In Dispensing Medications And Compounding Chemotherapy Drugs.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For A Certified Pharmacy Technician In An Oncology Setting. They Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure Proper Medication Management And Patient Care.
