Job Description

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic and innovative Pharmacy team. The successful candidate must possess outstanding customer service skills, a passion for helping others, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for accurately preparing and delivering medications to patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.The ideal candidate must have an Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology or a related field, a current certification as a Pharmacy Technician in Massachusetts, and at least one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. In addition to a strong technical understanding of pharmacy processes and procedures, the Certified Pharmacy Technician must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact with patients, pharmacists, and other medical personnel in a professional and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and deliver medications to patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain records and documentation related to the dispensing of medications.
  3. Assist pharmacists in ensuring the accuracy and safety of the medications prescribed to patients.
  4. Receive medication orders from physicians and other healthcare professionals and enter into the system.
  5. Ensure all regulations and laws regarding the dispensing of medications are followed.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to patients, pharmacists, and other medical personnel.
  8. Participate in continuing education and training as required to maintain current certification.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
