- Assist dentists in providing high-quality dental care to patients.
- Perform chairside duties, including taking and developing X-rays, preparing and sterilizing instruments, and assisting with procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure patient safety and infection control.
- Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a positive and friendly atmosphere.
- Take detailed patient histories and record vital signs as needed.
- Educate patients on proper dental care and oral hygiene techniques.
- Handle patient scheduling, billing, and insurance coordination.
- Communicate effectively with both patients and team members.
- Adhere to all regulations, protocols, and standards set by the hospital and dental industry.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
- Display professionalism and empathy towards patients, creating a comfortable and reassuring experience.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Certified Dental Assistant (Cda) At Massachusetts General Hospital Must Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent In Order To Be Considered For The Position.
Completion Of An Accredited Dental Assisting Program: Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Dental Assisting Program And Have A Current Certification From The Dental Assisting National Board (Danb).
Knowledge Of Dental Procedures And Terminology: A Cda Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Dental Procedures And Terminology In Order To Assist The Dentist During Procedures And Communicate Effectively With Patients.
Hands-On Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Hands-On Experience Working As A Dental Assistant, Preferably In A Hospital Setting.
Current Cpr Certification: A Cda Must Have Current Cpr Certification And Be Able To Respond Effectively In Emergency Situations.
