  1. Receive and inspect all endoscopes and associated equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness before processing.
  2. Follow proper procedures for decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of endoscopes and related instruments.
  3. Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  4. Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on all processing equipment.
  5. Document all steps of the processing and sterilization process accurately and timely.
  6. Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Work closely with other members of the medical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile endoscopes for procedures.
  8. Keep up-to-date with current sterilization techniques, best practices, and regulations.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and educational programs related to endoscope processing.
  10. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other staff members to ensure the safe and effective use of endoscopes.
  11. Maintain accurate and organized records of all endoscope processing activities.
  12. Monitor and order inventory of supplies necessary for endoscope processing.
  13. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive experience at all times.
  15. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the hospital.

  • Sterilization And Disinfection Skills: A Strong Understanding Of Sterilization And Disinfection Techniques Is Essential For This Role, As The Technician Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That Endoscopes Are Properly Cleaned And Disinfected Before Being Sterilized.

  • Attention To Detail: As Endoscopes Are Delicate Instruments Used For Invasive Procedures, It Is Crucial For The Technician To Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Any Potential Damage Or Defects That May Affect The Quality Of The Instrument.

  • Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Necessary For A Central Sterile Endoscope Processing Technician, As They Will Be Working Closely With Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure That Endoscopes Are Available When Needed And In Proper Working Condition.
