1. Operate the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgical procedures, ensuring proper function and monitoring patient physiological status.
2. Prepare, set up, and maintain the heart-lung machine and associated equipment.
3. Monitor and adjust blood flow, oxygenation, and temperature levels during surgery to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
4. Administer medications and blood products as needed during procedures.
5. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
6. Maintain accurate records of perfusion procedures and patient information.
7. Respond to and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or emergencies.
8. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding the perfusion process and answer any questions or concerns.
9. Stay up-to-date on the latest perfusion techniques and technology to provide the most advanced care possible.
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
