Job Description

  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment, including but not limited to, patient monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and anesthesia machines.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate solutions.
  3. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
  4. Adhere to all hospital and industry safety standards and protocols.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the Biomedical Engineering team to ensure timely and effective equipment maintenance and repairs.
  6. Stay informed about new technology and equipment updates in the healthcare industry.
  7. Assist in the installation and testing of new medical equipment.
  8. Communicate effectively with hospital staff, vendors, and manufacturers regarding equipment repairs and maintenance.
  9. Maintain inventory and order necessary supplies and parts for equipment maintenance.
  10. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  11. Provide excellent customer service and support to hospital staff and patients.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner to minimize equipment downtime.
  13. Follow hospital policies and procedures related to equipment maintenance and repairs.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and contribute to process improvements within the Biomedical Engineering department.

Job Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree In Biomedical Equipment Technology Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Biomedical Equipment Technician.

  • Certification As A Biomedical Equipment Technician (Cbet) From The Association For The Advancement Of Medical Instrumentation (Aami).

  • Proficiency In Troubleshooting, Repairing, And Maintaining A Wide Range Of Medical Equipment.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Regulations And Standards For Medical Equipment, Including Hipaa And Osha.
