Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Billing Manager to join the finance team at Massachusetts General Hospital. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for financial management. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.The Assistant Billing Manager will be responsible for managing the billing process of various departments and ensuring accuracy of financial information. You will be expected to provide assistance with developing and implementing new procedures for payment processing, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provide guidance on billing and payment inquiries.To be considered for this position, you must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in billing and accounts receivable. Experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel are also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities of an Assistant Billing Manager:

  1. Manage the billing process of various departments and ensure accuracy of financial information.
  2. Develop and implement new procedures for payment processing.
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. Provide guidance on billing and payment inquiries.
  5. Utilize accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  7. Monitor and report billing activity.
  8. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  9. Manage accounts receivable.
  10. Create and maintain financial records and reports.
