SQL Server Database Administrator

At Marsh & McLennan Companies, we are looking for a highly experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in database management, as well as an understanding of the company’s business operations and data needs. This role requires a combination of technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.We are looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator who possesses a strong understanding of database architecture and design, as well as the ability to develop and maintain a highly available and performant database environment. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, comfortable in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.To be successful in this role, the successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the database administration field, preferably with MS SQL Server. Additionally, the candidate must be certified in MS SQL Server (MCSA or MCSE). Experience with Microsoft Azure, PowerShell scripting, and database development are also desirable.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server databases.
2. Develop and maintain database backup and recovery processes.
3. Monitor and optimize database performance, and troubleshoot any issues.
4. Manage database security and user access.
5. Implement database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
6. Create and maintain database documentation.
7. Develop and maintain scripts for maintenance and automation tasks.
8. Work with IT teams to ensure databases are properly integrated with application software.
9. Stay up to date on the latest database technologies.
10. Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure data accuracy and security.
