- Develop and implement legal and compliance policies and procedures to ensure ethical and compliant business practices across all areas of the company.
- Analyze and interpret laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure the company's operations are in compliance.
- Advise senior leadership on legal and compliance matters, providing strategic guidance and recommendations.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external legal and regulatory agencies, maintaining strong relationships and effectively managing any legal or compliance investigations.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of legal and compliance risk and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal and compliance considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making.
- Oversee the development and delivery of company-wide compliance training programs to promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and proactively make recommendations for necessary changes to policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in legal and compliance, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage a team of legal and compliance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the team's success.
- Report regularly to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on the company's legal and compliance activities and performance.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive legal and compliance matters.
Extensive Legal Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience As A Practicing Attorney, Preferably In A Corporate Or Financial Services Setting. They Should Also Have A Strong Understanding Of Relevant Laws And Regulations, Including Securities, Antitrust, And Employment Laws.
Compliance Expertise: The Chief Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Compliance Principles And Best Practices, As Well As Experience Developing And Implementing Compliance Programs. They Should Also Have A Track Record Of Successfully Managing Compliance Risks And Issues.
Leadership And Management Skills: This Role Requires Strong Leadership And Management Skills To Oversee A Team Of Attorneys And Compliance Professionals. The Candidate Should Have Experience Managing And Developing A Team, As Well As The Ability To Collaborate And Influence Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization.
Strategic Thinking: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strategic Mindset And The Ability To Think Critically And Analytically. They Should Have A Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Strategic Initiatives That Align With The Company's Goals And Objectives.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Chief Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer Will Be Responsible For Communicating Complex Legal And Compliance Matters To Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Management And The Board Of Directors.
