Job Description

Marks and Spencer is seeking an Online Commercial Manager to lead our Gifting & Entertaining department. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising, product selection, and promotional strategies. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for the Gifting & Entertaining department to drive sales and profitability.
  2. Conduct market research and stay updated on customer trends and behaviors in the gifting and entertaining industry.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and e-commerce, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to product selection and promotional strategies.
  4. Lead and manage a team of merchandisers and buyers to ensure effective merchandising of products on the website.
  5. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and make data-driven decisions.
  6. Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote the Gifting & Entertaining department.
  7. Collaborate with the e-commerce team to constantly improve the online shopping experience for customers.
  8. Manage the budget for the department and ensure profitability targets are met.
  9. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure competitive pricing and exclusive products.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  11. Ensure all products and promotions are accurately represented on the website and in line with brand standards.
  12. Analyze customer feedback and utilize it to improve the product selection and overall customer experience.
  13. Stay updated on e-commerce best practices and make recommendations for improvements to the online shopping experience.
  14. Train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their roles.
  15. Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve any customer issues or complaints related to the Gifting & Entertaining department.
  16. Represent the Gifting & Entertaining department in company meetings and provide updates on performance and future plans.
  17. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team.
  18. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures within the department to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Marketing, Business, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In E-Commerce, Preferably In The Gifting Or Entertaining Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Online Sales And Marketing Strategies, Including Seo, Ppc, And Social Media.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Growing Online Sales For A Retail Company.

  • Excellent Communication And Analytical Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Data And Make Data-Driven Decisions.
