  1. Conduct thorough and accurate reviews of medical records to ensure coding compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with coding team to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in coding.
  3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  4. Utilize coding software and other tools to accurately assign codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
  5. Communicate effectively with coding team and other healthcare professionals to address any issues or concerns.
  6. Keep up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and share updates with the team.
  7. Create and maintain detailed reports of coding processes and outcomes.
  8. Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to management.
  9. Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of coding processes.
  10. Train and educate coding team on new regulations and coding guidelines.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to ensure coding processes align with overall organizational goals.
  12. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Participate in audits and other quality assurance activities to ensure coding accuracy.
  14. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in coding and compliance.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Mainehealth in all job responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Health Information Management, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Healthcare Coding Or Auditing Role.

  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Coding Guidelines And Regulations, Including Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Analyze And Interpret Complex Medical Records.
