- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing necessary tools, instruments, and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper sterilization techniques and protocols.
- Prepare and set up surgical equipment and instruments prior to procedures.
- Anticipate and proactively address the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
- Monitor and track surgical supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to prevent potential risks and hazards during surgical procedures.
- Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient information.

Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: The Candidate Must Have Successfully Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Includes Both Classroom Instruction And Clinical Experience.
Certification As A Surgical Technologist: The Candidate Must Be Certified By The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Or Tech In Surgery - Certified (Ts-C).
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: The Candidate Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures And Be Familiar With The Equipment And Instruments Used In General Surgery.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Effective Communication Skills To Work With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Surgical Environment. They Must Also Be Able To Work Well In A Team And Follow Instructions Accurately.
Physical Stamina And Dexterity: The Job Of A Surgical Technologist Involves Standing For Long Periods, Lifting And Positioning Patients, And Handling Delicate Surgical Instruments. The Candidate Must Have Physical Stamina And Dexterity To Perform These Tasks Efficiently.
