Mainehealth is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to join our Interpreter Services team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between healthcare providers and non-English speaking patients.   1. Schedule interpreter appointments for non-English speaking patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients to confirm appointments and provide necessary information.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interpreter appointments and patient information.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and staff members to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination of interpreter services.
  5. Monitor and manage interpreter schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all appointments.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or issues related to interpreter services.
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to interpreter services.
  8. Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and appointments in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  9. Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures to effectively schedule interpreters for specific appointments.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with interpreters and language services providers.
  12. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  13. Contribute to the overall success of the Interpreter Services team by collaborating and supporting team members as needed.
  14. Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy protocols when handling sensitive patient information.
  15. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times when interacting with patients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Fluency In Multiple Languages: As A Scheduling Coordinator For Interpreter Services, It Is Essential To Be Fluent In At Least Two Languages In Addition To English. This Will Allow For Effective Communication And Coordination With Both Patients And Interpreters.

  • Experience In Healthcare Setting: A Strong Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And Its Unique Scheduling Needs Is Crucial For This Role. Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Highly Desirable.

  • Excellent Organizational Skills: A Scheduling Coordinator Must Be Able To Handle A High Volume Of Appointments And Manage Conflicting Schedules. Strong Organizational Skills, Attention To Detail, And The Ability To Prioritize Tasks Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Position Requires Constant Communication With Patients, Interpreters, And Healthcare Staff. A Successful Scheduling Coordinator Must Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Build And Maintain Positive Relationships.

  • Proficiency In Computer Systems: Mainehealth Utilizes Various Computer Systems For Scheduling And Managing Appointments. Proficiency In These Systems Is A Key Qualification For The Role, As Well As The Ability To Learn New Software And Adapt To Changes In Technology.
